Welcome to the ECO10002!

Welcome to the website of the course Mathematical Methods for Economics and Business (ECO10002) at City College of New York!

Course Description

This course follows a hybrid asynchronous format. In-person lectures and office hours are held every Monday. You will also receive study materials each week. It is essential that you thoroughly learn and understand these materials during the week before the next Monday’s lecture. You are expected to manage your time efficiently, direct your own learning, independently engage with the materials, communicate proactively with instructors or peers when needed, and adapt to the necessary technology. This self-directed approach is crucial for your success in the course and will also aid in developing valuable lifelong skills such as self-discipline and effective time management.

The course explains the essential mathematical tools and techniques frequently used to solve problems in economics. It will be delivered through traditional “chalk and talk” lectures and supplemented with regular take-home assignments and in-class quizzes. The course covers college algebra and calculus, specifically Functions, Differentiation, Limits, Integration, and Multivariable Functions, etc.
